The Federation of Liberian Youth (FLY) believes that young people are not problems to be solved — they are partners in building Liberia’s future. Through advocacy, partnerships, leadership development, and youth-centered initiatives, FLY creates platforms that empower young Liberians to gain skills, access opportunities, influence decisions, and contribute meaningfully to national development.
Our programs respond to the most urgent challenges facing young people today, including unemployment, limited access to opportunities, exclusion from decision-making, drug abuse, and the need for stronger youth leadership.

INITIATIVE
Turning Challenges Into Opportunities
Liberia’s youth population represents one of the country’s greatest assets. However, unemployment, substance abuse, and limited opportunities continue to affect thousands of young people. The Drugs to Jobs Initiative is FLY’s flagship response to youth unemployment and drug abuse.
The initiative seeks to support vulnerable young people by creating pathways from addiction and street survival toward rehabilitation, skills development, employment, and entrepreneurship.

CAUCUS (YLC)
Connecting Young Liberians With Lawmakers
The Youth Legislative Caucus is a platform established to strengthen engagement between young people and members of the National Legislature.
Through research, policy discussions, and legislative advocacy, the Caucus provides young Liberians with a structured pathway to influence laws and national policies affecting youth development. The initiative promotes stronger collaboration between lawmakers and youth leaders while ensuring that youth perspectives are reflected in legislative processes.

Youth Leadership & Governance Program
Building a Generation of Responsible Leaders
FLY works to strengthen youth participation in governance by creating platforms for dialogue, leadership development, and civic engagement. Youth Peacebuilding & Social Cohesion Program
Young People as Partners in Peace
Liberia’s peace is one of its greatest achievements, and young people have a responsibility to protect and strengthen it. FLY promotes youth-led peacebuilding, dialogue, conflict prevention, and community engagement initiatives that encourage tolerance, unity, and peaceful coexistence.

Justice, Not Jungle Justice Campaign
Promoting Rule of Law and Community Safety
FLY, in partnership with stakeholders in the justice sector, works to promote awareness of the rule of law and discourage mob violence. The Justice, Not Jungle Justice Campaign empowers communities, particularly young people, with knowledge about justice systems, community safety, and peaceful conflict resolution.
Through market peace committees, community outreach, and public awareness campaigns, the initiative promotes a culture where justice is pursued through institutions — not violence.
National Youth Constitutional Dialogue
Amplifying Youth Voices in Nation Building
Young Liberians must have a meaningful role in shaping the laws and institutions that define the country’s future. The National Youth Constitutional Dialogue provides a platform for young people, especially emerging leaders, students, young professionals, and youth organizations, to contribute perspectives on governance, representation, citizenship, justice, and national development.
The initiative ensures that youth priorities are reflected in Liberia’s ongoing conversations about constitutional and governance reforms.
Youth Elections & Democratic Participation Program
Strengthening Youth Democracy
FLY promotes democratic participation by strengthening youth engagement in electoral processes and encouraging young people to become active citizens. Through civic education, youth forums, and democratic awareness campaigns, FLY works to ensure that young people understand their rights and responsibilities in Liberia’s democracy.
